Pomme d'Happy

Every day at Pomme d'Happy follows a familiar rhythm, but not a strict hour-by-hour schedule. We leave room for each child's needs, mood, and pace, while still providing the predictability and sense of security they need.

A gentle start

Some children need a little more time to say goodbye in the morning. You are welcome to help your child take off their shoes, put their things away, or stay for a little while until they feel ready to join in.

Others can hardly wait to get to the toys. Both reactions are perfectly natural. Either way, we are there to welcome you and your child with a smile and help the day begin calmly.

Play and time together

The children have a wide variety of toys, books, building materials, and opportunities for role play and imaginative games. They can choose whether to play on their own, with another child, or as part of a larger group.

Throughout the day, there are also moments for songs, stories, conversations, and shared activities. We don't expect every child to take part in the same way. Instead, we adapt the length and content of activities to their age and attention span.

We observe, support, and step in whenever a child needs help, guidance, or someone to play with.

The theme of the week

Each week, we choose a shared theme around which we plan some of our activities.

It might focus on animals, nature, the seasons, the human body, family, or the world around us. Holidays and traditions also provide wonderful inspiration for activities — Baba Marta, Bastille Day, Christmas, or Halloween, for example.

The theme is explored through stories, songs, arts and crafts, movement, language activities, observation, and age-appropriate tasks. In this way, children encounter the same ideas in different forms and gradually deepen their understanding.

Movement and time outdoors

We love spending time in the garden and go outside almost every day, whenever the weather allows. There, the children can move freely, observe nature and the changing seasons, play together, or enjoy the sandbox and slide.

When the weather keeps us indoors, the children still have plenty of opportunities to move and play in their favourite "sports room".

Meals, rest, and sleep

We want mealtimes to be calm and enjoyable. We encourage children to become more independent step by step, never force them to eat, and take their age, habits, and individual needs into account. Every day, the menu includes fresh fruit or vegetables.

An afternoon nap is available for children who need it. We don't expect everyone to fall asleep, nor do we insist that every child follow the same routine.

For children who don't sleep, we provide books, arts and crafts, and other quiet activities. When the day's rhythm allows, we also use this time for additional activities with the older children.

Staying connected with parents

It is important to us that parents know how their child's day has gone. Every day, we share the most important moments — how your child felt, how they ate and rested, and what they enjoyed or found challenging. Parents are in direct contact with the people who care for their children.

We are always available to talk about questions, concerns, or any difficulties that may arise. We believe that open, trusting communication between families and our team is an important part of helping children feel safe and secure.
